A poem by Remontz to my Aunt
Written for Mother’s Day 2019
In an Aunt’s Hands
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
You are vital to the core that helps me stand.
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
I think about how I was first held in your hands.
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
I think about vacations — I was your right-hand…
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
how you strike fear and fun with the same hands.
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
I think of being fouled n rising to claps of your hands.
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
Aunts’ like you help mold them with your hands.
When I think about the building blocks of a man,
You are vital to the the core that helps me stand.
When I think about the building blocks of a woman….
With you my daughters couldn’t be in greater hands!
Happy Mother’s Day Auntie, today is your day to not even lift a finger.
