Written to my Mother ❤️ Mother’s Day 2019

The day July 26, 1990…had to be Unimaginable

Prolly couldn’t imagine becoming a Mother the next day.

Prolly couldn’t imagine giving birth in that way.

You prolly couldn’t imagine the new life you’d make.

Prolly couldn’t imagine any of my traits.

Prolly couldn’t imagine I’d inherit your face.

You prolly couldn’t imagine the first words I’d state.

Prolly couldn’t imagine the first steps I’d take.

Prolly couldn’t imagine all the rules I’d break.

You prolly couldn’t imagine ass-whoopings I’d escape.

Prolly couldn’t even imagine the nerves I’d pulsate.

Prolly couldn’t imagine your life with a son,

But I hope you know your actions showed me what love was.

I can’t imagine life without you becoming my Mother that next day.

Can’t imagine a life where I was born in any other way.

Can’t imagine how hard it is to raise a boy into a man…

But that’s only a portion of the life you’ve made.

Can’t imagine my life without displaying your traits.

I can’t imagine my daughter’s eyes without seeing your face.

I honestly can’t imagine rhyming state, take, break or escape;🤷🏾‍♂️

But I do know you’re the reason my heart pulsates!❤️
